A Bit of a Different RC Project!!! | Custom RC Body 3D Modeling
I've decided to take on a new project, cause I can never have enough to do... I have a fun project in mind but it needs a body. This will be a scale project, needing a scale body and something that I can put my own touches to. I really wanted to do something around a Chevy OBS body as they are really making a comeback in the custom truck world right now, but the only options that are even remotely close to want I want are all lexan bodies.
So that leads me to 3D modeling and 3D printing. Of course it wasn't going to be as easy as just downloading a model and printing. There weren't any models I could find online so I had to make my own. This will be a long and interesting process but here I am designing an RC body to print myself. Wish me luck!!
Hope you Enjoy the Video!!

How Will the LMT Handle a NEW Custom Ramp Feature?!?!
Переглядів 267Місяць тому
I've been trying out just about all of my RCs on the new ramps I've been building. But it's time to start adding some new obstacles and features. This is one I've had planned for a while. I had planned to use some old monster truck tires as part of a ramp when I first decided to build some new ramps. I'm so glad to finally have this completed but I did build this all based on guesses. It's time...
Arrma Notorious Takes on the New Ramps!! And it FLIES!!!!

Continuing with getting all the trucks a little action on the new ramps... Hahaha no, I actually made a few small changes to the ramps and of course we had to test them. I also put a fresh set of wheels and tires on the Arrma Notorious recently so it was time to test it out again. The Notorious was a blast on these ramps honestly and I can't wait to get it back out on the ramps and get the ramp...
Mini Monster Truck Takes on HUGE Ramps!!! Losi Mini LMT
Переглядів 528Місяць тому
The Losi Mini LMT has been my favorite RC lately. It can be taken anywhere and can be really fun on just about anything. But can it handle some huge ramps?! Today we're trying out the LMT on the new ramps I've been working on for my large scale RCs. Just wanting to see how such a small truck can handle something this size. This was a whole lot of fun, let me know if you want to see more from th...
Finally Building New Ramps!! Let's Test Them Out!!
Переглядів 2372 місяці тому
I've been saying this for a long time, my old ramps that I've been using for years have seen better days. I've been waiting to build a really nice new set of ramps that could accommodate my solid axle monster trucks but all of my RCs as well. After procrastinating a while I finally got started and build the main box and the first two ramps. I really wanted to test out the angles and slopes of t...
Why Did I Wait SO Long to Try These Micro Monster Truck Tires?!?!
Переглядів 6552 місяці тому
I've been talking a bit recently in monster truck videos about wanting to redesign my 3d printed micro monster truck to perform a bit better. Hopefully perform similar to the Mini LMT just a bit smaller! The first step in that was figuring out wheels and tires. I originally used a 3d printed wheel and some tires from a spin masters model, but since then Jconcepts has released a pretty cool set ...
The Slammed K5 Suspension Got an Overhaul!!
Переглядів 8622 місяці тому
It's been a while since the last update on the suspension of the K5 Blazer but the whole goal has been to give us more freedom to lift the truck higher for driving and make the entire suspension more efficient in general. I used some C-Hubs and knuckles from the Tamiya CC01 and designed some arms and links to accommodate them so that I could have more motion in the suspension with no binding. A...

Based on the statistics I still don't think a lot of you have seem this little rig! I designed and 3d printed my own Ultra 4 style chassis for the Axial SCX24 and I'm really loving the look! This Simple Jump Made the Losi Mini LMT SO Much Fun!!

Just take a look at the recent videos on the channel and you'll clearly see I love driving this little truck! The Losi Mini LMT quickly became my favorite RC to drive, probably even more than it's larger brother the full scale LMT. It handles so well and jumps like you want a monster truck to jump! It's possible to pull off some stunts with it and flip it over when it gets in trouble. I've take...
Creating My Own Ultra4 Axial SCX24 Chassis!!

There wasn't a lot of excitement from the last video of the 3D printed chassis I found for the Axial SCX24. Maybe designing my own chassis will draw a little more interest! In all seriousness, the chassis I found on thingiverse was really nice but it wasn't designed for the stock electronics. I was in the process of attempting to remix it and modify it to work better when I decided that it migh...
Re-Geared Mud Drag Truck... But it's not Muddy?!
Переглядів 5653 місяці тому
We got a down poor of rain this week and I actually found some extra spur gears that I could try out some different gearing options in my Dirt Drag Truck! Really hoping with all the rain we'd have some soft mud that these paddle tires could dig into and get us some traction! I think the gearing will be pretty good but we're back in the situation of finding traction as the surface wasn't as mudd...
The Slammed K5 Blazer Suspension Needs a Little Work!!

The Bagged Blazer build has been completed for a bit and I've been enjoying driving it a round and showing it off. With a complete custom build like this, you'll always find a few things you could have done better. After getting a few cruises with this truck at some car shows I realized I could have done a little better with the suspension. Mechanically it works fine, exactly like intended and ...
Can We Find ANY Gears That Will Hold Up in an Overpowered Traxxas X-Maxx
Переглядів 1994 місяці тому
Well.... We got some new diff gears for the X-Maxx. I raved about how easy it was to change these gears out. I even decided to put some fresh fluid in the front and rear diffs. But they sure didn't last long! I'm not sure if there's really just too much power with the Hobbywing Max 5 system or if I haven't found good gears yet. But this has been an ongoing problem, hopefully we can find a solut...
Overpowered Traxxas X-Maxx needs Diffs!! | How much Power can the X-Maxx Take?`
Переглядів 2594 місяці тому
The last time I took the X-Maxx out for a drive there was an obvious clicking sound under acceleration. Since installing the Hobbywing brushless system with the Max 5 ESC, I haven't opened up the diffs or really checked anything in this truck. So it was pretty obvious that at least one of the diffs in the Traxxas X-Maxx wasn't up to the task of handling the Max 5 power. We need to figure out wh...
My Axial SCX24 gets Another Facelift!! SCX24 U4 Rock Bouncer Build
Переглядів 5014 місяці тому
The last time we've seen my Axial SCX24 was a K5 Blazer build with a camper to pull behind!! It was a fun build but it wasn't practical for driving as the body put a lot of weight up top, raising the center of gravity. At my new house, I have a perfect little rock garden that one of the previous owners built. It's set up really nicely for some challenging micro crawler lines and I really wanted...

DOPE!!!!!
Really incredible painting
It's perfsct.
I used to drag Mopar's in the 8th and I had heard of some racers running weak shocks on the back to allow the car to squat and get good transfer to the rear! My last drag car was a 1973 340 Dart Swinger and my best 8th mile was low 8's
@@parker1ray that's exactly what I thought would work best in rc as well but it turned out the car rathered a stiffer rear. I guess it slowed down the weight transfer enough that made it more consistent
Your intro should show successful launches not crashes lol!
First prep track runs today in ocala. 2.8s for 3 cars, but launches are subdued due to sticky conditions, and top end is low. Gonna pump up power and lock doelwn slippers, and see if theyll hold onto the road. Nobody running tp on drag, so im hoping to show a big jump, and open some eyes.
@@reallythough4591 should be able to put some power down on a prepped surface!
Just put drk in Macklin in the stock slash what's having all sorts of issues going sideways off the jump, turned out to be a blown out right rear tire. Took a wreck to figure that out.
Slipper slipping
I just dropped in the stock slash. Spinning early, and got sideways into a curb. Blew out a rear tire, so came home and swapped with some belted beadlocks. Great vid, thanks.

That is not the appropriate way to measure the resistance, especially when the resistance is very low
Yes please, more drag racing! I'm new to this hobby and I need all the help I can get! Thank you and great videos!!
Thats your diff spinning up faster on kne side when your tires has more or less traction on one side. Upgrade your diff fluid to around 1 million. Limited slip diff works much better.
Rate is toomuch 6021.93😢
Am thinking to use high-current bullet connectors to make Ebike batteries more serviceable.
Absolutely beautiful rig, I’m currently doing a trx4 drag blazer and came across your build love the colors and stance of it
@@dalewilliams7871 thank you so much!
Something that one could also do is the rake of the car, by having less negative rake and softer suspension the weight will transfer to the back when accelerating!
Ass far as I know you can not move weight from front to rear or vice versa but add or reduce weight dijagonali. To understand you need to think tgat you have a stool with four legs and one of the legs is shorter or longer so the weight will be transferd to the leg touching the ground, same with the car the wheel touching the ground will have the most pressure on it so you need to lift of the ground slightly until you find a balance with all wheels touching the ground!
Hey man, have you ever thought about making a 3d body model for the xmaxx?
@@CloseEncountersFPV not really. Printing a body for that truck wouldn't really be practical as even the stock lexan body doesn't hold up to bashing. A 3d printed body would break extremely fast
what part of Louisiana are you from? Representing Arnaudville!!!

For the money, the time spending building, and the looks and how close it's to RTR, hands down the Losi LMT mini is definitely the best bang for your buck at around $280US I haven't put a dime into mine, and it's daily ran through the house. Not one thing has gone wrong. Now, I got the Traxxas TRX4MT,... That's a whole different story because I got it for a purpose. To build my dream OG Bigfoot 1. It's already hitting the $450 mark easy. But, in the manufacturing and structure of the Traxxas TRX4MT, it would be breaking parts left and right. Who makes a Monster Truck with locked diffs and uses crawling electronics, etc?... Lol I mean, for the price, I could have bought a Redcat Ground Pounder, thrown on better wheels and rims, and had a 10th scale monster truck basher that is built way better. But, it wouldn't have the Traxxas Body and licensing quality. In that, they do great work. But what good is a Ferrari on Walmart special tires? 🤔🤷 So, RTR(and in every meaning of the words), 1/18 scale Losi wins. I'm sorry, just my opinion. Heck I've added my own ESC, reciever, (Had both just laying around) so I could use my DumboRc DDF-350 with it and all I need is a body and I'll be completely satisfied with the LMT-mini especially under $300US. Folks seriously consider how much work, skill, money, and time you have before ever starting an RC project... Lol 🍻❤️🖖 Hopefully no hard feelings, just my 2 cents.
I absolutely agree that the Mini LMT is the best mini monster truck out there right now, I've been raving about it in some of my more recent videos. I made this video before that truck was released so everything here is based on not having driven that truck yet. I will say the one area that it may not be the choice for some is the size. All the trucks in this video are 1/24th scale which allowed me to create a nice course there on a pool table and the trucks handled it great! The Mini LMT being 1/18th scale wouldn't handle a course with such little room as well. But I completely agree with you, the Mini LMT is the best RC for the money right now in my opinion... and Losi has never given me a dime or any free products or deals to promote their vehicles.
This guy rocks,... And someone that actually read my comment and honestly got it! I never even thought about how true you are about these being the 1/24s and in that sense you can kick a door of endless body opportunity to the list being the universal vehicle model size. Almost. Most bodies, especially my fave, the 56' stepside Ford 100, can get hardbodied.that there is money and strength added to a build. Hell, you might get really lucky and find your exact color! You are spot on as well with the conclusion of these 24th scale.
Can you lower the front end any and raise the back end a little this may help transfer a little weight to the front
I wouldn't want to lower the front much more as it would start to drag the ground.
Do you have a video on how to fill shocks?
I don't have a dedicated video on it but I have filled shocks in many of my videos. There are a lot of videos out there showing the process in detail.
Will this work on a 2.5?
Unfortunately I have no clue. Maybe someone else has tried with that model and can give you more info than I could.
Beautiful
Thank you!
Camera angle is messed up
Can you tell me what you didn't like about the camera angle? Always trying to make my videos better
Interesting! 🍿 waiting for more on this build. Might have to come check out that software. Looks like fun
Fun and a headache all at the same time!😂
Класс!
Kyosho 1/10 race buggy’s have the bottom fill shocks … very easy to change out oil
How do you go about bleeding them though? It's always been easy for me to bleed shocks with the typical top cap
If you can fit very small o rings,it will tighten the diff. Just be careful not to use to thick o rings
Would that not make the gear mesh too tight, wearing them out quicker? Or am I misunderstanding what you're meaning?
@FullThrottleRC that is a concern, you just need to take out as much slop as possible! Then use very heavy grease
The way I learn is to go balls to the wall.😂😂😂
😂😂
What body are you running on the LMT?
In this video is was the jconcepts 88 Silverado. I'm currently running a jconcepts escalade
Now that looks like a lot of fun, get a couple trucks out there, have a monster jam
Definitely the plan when I have the ramps all complete! A couple LMTs and we could have a blast!
Where in South Louisiana are you from? Lol. With dat accent and all dat sugar cane.
Hahaha I'm in a small town basically right in between New Orleans and Baton Rouge!
Cool 🚘
Thanks!
Отличная рампа. Классная машинка!
Thank you !
Just wondering, does the shell detatch? Thinking you could swap it out for a hot wheels car
Yes it does! It actually comes with two extra bodies that you can paint yourself. I'm curious how it would handle with a hot wheels body as it would be considerably heavier
@@FullThrottleRC it looks already like it's a bit too light, I'm wondering if more weight would make it slide better tbh
@@FullThrottleRC and considering the hot wheels custom scene you could be slapping some mad bodies on there
what chassis is this built on? I am just getting into the hobby and i enjoy these videos alot.
This car was an Associated SC5M. I currently have a DR10M
What was your fluid in your shocks during this time?
Since building the DR10M I've always run the same shocks fluids. 30wt (or less if I had it) in the front and 100wt in the rear.
Halo man!!! Do you have stl?
I will not be releasing stls of this design as I plan to release a full final chassis in the future.
What kind of plywood are you using?
It's 1/8th inch or about 4mm plywood for the faces. I believe it's birch but not 100% sure on that. The ramp sides that I made out of plywood are 1/2 inch thick.
Awesome! I just decided to make a modular ramp system for my monster trucks! Looks like you need a more gradual curve on the tall ramp so your front end doesn’t hit before your tires (happens to me all the time when I just lean up a piece of wood against some cinder blocks. As for the connecting then you could looks into some kind of heavy duty Velcro strap (doubles as a carry handle) or those metal latches you’d find on hard cases like they use for hauling around concert gear or army footlockers.
That's exactly what I'm thinking for that larger ramp. Just making the slope a little more gradual and the face longer so the trucks can travel smoothly up it. As for the latches, I have something in mind but I need to get the other two ramps built first as it involves locking all four together, sandwiching the box in the center. I like the metal latch idea! Thanks!
If i figured out how to setup my reAr suspension could i pay you for the front ifs suspension pieces
I'm currently not selling this design. I hope to have an entire chassis available in the future but that may be a few months out.
This is a great design. Just needs fixing a bit
Thank you! I agree, just a little bit of adjustment that should be pretty simple to do!
The starting angle on the larger side of the ramp is way too steep the truck is crashing into it rather than going up it.
That's exactly what I'm thinking! Thinking I can make it a little smoother even if I'm losing a little on the top lip it'll still make for a smoother launch angle for the bigger jump
Friend, sorry for the question, but I'm new to the car model, what is the size of the screws used to join the body parts? Beautiful car, I really like the job!
If I remember correctly the screws came with the fender flares when I bought them so I'm not sure of the exact size. Really small though. Something like 0.5m x 1mm long
Nice, Thanks, can you make a video you upgrading the tx (Futaba) on the car; how to connect the receiver, please ;-)
I don't have this car anymore unfortunately. But the futaba receiver can just be put right where the original one was. Plugging the servo/gyro into channel one and esc into channel two
@@FullThrottleRCthanks, that sounds easy ;-)
This car is not even drifting smh
Check out some of the other comments as well as on the other video I did on this car. It is heavily reliant on the type of surface it's on to get really good drifts. I think cause of the material the wheels and tires are made of. A little disappointing to have to have a special surface for it to drift properly but still a really fun little car to slide around.
Can i mod it
Depends what you mean by mod it and how far you're wanting to go. You can definitely do some custom stuff with it but aftermarket bolt on hop ups probably won't be something you'll find much of
